The defensive driving course is a good idea...but letting your kids drive your RX-8 is probably a bad one.

I read somewhere the higher the number of friends in a teenager's car, the higher the probability of an accident.

So, we're looking for an underpowered 2 seater. Kind of like a Miata, definitely not a S2000. Or maybe a Suzuki Sidekick or something. Better yet that really ugly Geo 2-seater pseudo-Jeep.

Perhaps the best would be a pickup with bucket seats. Only two people can ride in it (except for Hawaii, perhaps) and some measure of crash protection.

We got a '03 VW Golf 2 dr 2.0 & a '99 Jetta with as many airbags it could have. I guess a heavy azz Hummer with a 1.6 4cyl would be best!
Now the 16 yr old is asking about a car...that's not going to happen for at least 4 more years!
