i'm sure there are people here that can help you, but just in case -
you can always buy the mdf from home depot or city mill and have them cut it for you to sizes you specify. at most places the first cut is free, and then you pay like .50 for every additional cut. just have to buy some 4x8 sheets of mdf (or whatever wood you want to use) and have them cut it. sketch it out on some scratch paper to make sure you get the most yield per piece (kinda like a jigsaw puzzle).
wood glue is fairly inexpensive, we use the white wood glue (sets fairly quickly and is pretty strong). besides, you're not going to use only glue to hold it together - buy a box of some good long wood screws. don't be stingy with them, make the box good and strong and airtight.
depending on the cf you're looking for and the type of box, you may also want to pick up some hollofill or other fiber stuffing/insulation to fill the box. you may also need to pick up some speaker ports, if you want to make a ported box. using ports with the "trumpets" molded in probably helps reduce turbulence and noise at the port, instead of just drilling ports in the box with a hole saw.
if you're not sure about the total dimensions or type of box you want, the loudspeaker design cookbook is a good reference book and starting point.

going for a 2.5cf box with the DD spec
i would go to homedepot n lows but those guys always seem to get the measurments off... even wen i wanted 3 pieces same i got 3 different pieces of by 1/2 at most cant have that done with my box...but if it comes down to that then i guess so

maybe they are not cutting the wood the same way each time? (i.e., sometimes they cut to the right of the line, sometimes to the left, sometimes right on the line).
or maybe they aren't taking into account blade width when making the cuts, so they're all a little off if they blade isn't lined up properly? if they're off by 1/2", it sounds like more than just off by blade width - perhaps a combination of blade width and sloppy lining up (i don't recall if they have the laser alignment thingies on their table saws at Home Depot).
or if the cuts are really noticeably off, they just might not give a rip (no pun intended).
yeah, if the dimensions need to be exact for the pieces to line up, 1/2" is going to mess you up. do you have neighbors that do wood work or have a garage shop that you can buy them a plate lunch or case of beer?
