Even if the track closes...I can still race! Okay...not really...but pretty close. I kept getting annoyed by having to pull out the wheel and pedal set I have, over and over again...and the fact that the sitting position is so uncomfortable it just takes the fun outta it, so I went and bought me a nice little "cockpit" as they call it.

It's called a Playseat, www.playseats.com, and it's pretty cool. Back when I was recovering from when the doctor almost killed me, I had to rehabilitate my leg, and learn how to drive all over again. I used these pedals that had a clutch pedal on them, and practiced racing around in games like Grand Prix Legends, Racer, Netkar, Live For Speed, & misc. others. It really helped out...and when the day came that I felt I could drive again, I jumped in, started the RX7 up, and went off with no problems.

Siiiiince, I still have all that stuff...I figure...go for the gusto. It should make driving GT4 all that more interesting. I haven't got to use it yet, 'cuz I'm too busy doing work...but hopefully I'll have a chance in the next few days to try it out. Now if I could just find the power supply for my steering wheel, I'll be all set. :(

The ultimate in GT4 Geek Fanboyism.

Pardon the lint...I pulled it outta the box, and it was kinda hairy.

It's from Act Labs...it's not too expensive compared to all of the other products on the market that can run up into the hundreds of dollars.

The pedals are currently being redesigned...but the shifter is available I believe. I have the first generation models. The new redesigns are supposed to be much, much better. The pedals will be available in March of this year for pre-order.

The steering wheel is the new Driving Force Pro for the PS2. It's got the capability to go 900 degrees rotation. It works great with the PC, as well, not just the PS2. You can get them new or used on Amazon if you like...or anywhere else.

Here's some pics of the pedals & shifter I have:

Wow. I tested it out last night for a good 30 minutes, and couldn't tear myself away (this was at like 11:30). My wife finally threw a pillow at me and told me to go to sleep! I wish I had more time...

Anyways, It improved my driving time by over a two seconds on my fastest lap with the RE Amemiya FD3S at Infineon! You actually feel great hitting a corner, and I was going so fast with such great control that I was able to actually 4-wheel slide around the turns because I'm able to use the gas and the brake at the same time now!

It was incredible...the next thing is to add some 50W Aura Bass Shakers to the underside of the seat, to give the entire thing that RUMBLE!
