I have an 82 rx7 (12a rotary motor) I'm new to the drifting world and am not quite sure where to start. I was thinking a straght pipe exhaust with a single turbo but thats where i'm lost... does any one know what i can do to build this car?

I'd say the best thing you can do is to upgrade it for reliability...rotaries run extremely hot...power is one thing, but to be honest, you want to make sure the sucker doesn't grenade on you...as drifting is crazy intensive on your motor. Sure, you might not get much power outta it, but to be honest, it's probably best to start out lean and work your way up from there. Spool-up is of high importance, you don't want a big ol' snail on your car...you need immediate response and power.

Engine wise...I'd say bigger radiator, upgraded fuel system, a good and reliable intercooler, fast spooling turbo, plus dual oil coolers, catch can, all that good stuff.

Also, don't forget to neglect the chassis on the car, as something that old probably is a bit weak in places...so strut tower bars, chassis braces, and suspension work is definetly going to be needed.

To be honest, I'm not much of an FB Guy...I never even really looked under the hood of one...heh.

If you want to know where to go for the most up-to-date information for FBs...make sure you check out www.rx7club.com It's the largest online forum for RX7 fanatics like us.

Thanks for joing by the way...post some pix of your car! Use our photopost hosting here on the forum! I'd love to see it!
