it was not destroked, i think they didnt use the LS7 cuz it has too think walls.. so they used their LS3, and stuffed a supercharger on it.. im sure it has new valvetrain too for all the power.. hoepfully they carried over the LS7 stuff... its gonna be sweeeeet.

I can't even imagine how insane that's gonna be. I rode in my brother's 08 Z06 while he opened it up, and even at *just* 505hp, it's a monster. That new ZR1 is gonna be madness on wheels.

Dude, a Z06 is INSANE. It pulls so hard, you have a hard time keeping your head up. Ok, just to underscore how hard it pulls..... my brother's phone charger was plugged into his cigarette lighter, and the cigarette lighter itself was in the cup holder in the center console next to the shifter. The cup holder is a good 3" or so deep, but when he punched it, the lighter came OUT of the cup holder. I've never been in an 11-second car before, so the experience was mind-blowing for me.

omfg if they do have that supercharged sucker in z0's and that causes the price of a supercharger on a LS3 to drop, im gonna get a stock vette, get suspension mods, lighten it a little and bolt a freakin supercharger on it!!


but now, people are getting me to think about modding my own car..

Lt1 to LT4 kit, bore it and stroke it..no FI till after i get enough $ to play around, but just FI internals..overall updates to ignition, computer, fuel delivery...

should've kept the Chevelle, well, at least the motor. that should drop into a Tahoe with some work (i figure if the earlier 'burbs came with 454s, there should be a way to drop them into a Tahoe as well).

don't need a 6 sp. tranny for our DD... TH400 or even a built 700R4 should do the job as long as we don't hammer on it. I heard some people are using the Alison HD trans behind big blocks with good results.

it IS gonna have all the LS7 internals, just unstroked and unbored so it has thicker sidewalls..

its also gonna be tuned so its more 'driveable' on the streets, so not as stiff as a z06...until you adjust the magnetic dampers (like ferraris., lambos, porsches, etc..)

gonna be on z06's aluminum chassis, but its gonna have more cf parts on it..

and its gonna be rated at 620hp.. (so they can get 10 hp per liter..)

if you ask me, its prolly gonna be underrated like the old zr1's..

I know it's much easier said than done, but imagine if GM, Ford, and Dodge refined their engines a bit. I mean if Porsche can get 415 horsepower out of a naturally aspirated 3.6, imagine how much power Dodge could untap from their 8.4 liter Vipers.
