Now you can have the best of both worlds, supposedly.

The $13,000 prize for whoever gets Windows XP to dual-boot on an Intel-based Mac has been won, according to the website created to promote the competition. At this stage it's not clear who's going to walk off with the cash, or whether their code will make it to a wider audience.

The contest was started last month by Colin Nederkoorn to prove to his boss that replacing an IBM desktop PC with a MacBook Pro made sense because the machine would run Windows XP natively as well as Mac OS X.

The whole messed up thing about windows is.... the windows software itself! Why get rid of OSX for some crappy XP...

Simple. To play games.

Apparently, the software above, is dual bootable...so you have the option of using Mac or Windows when you first start up...so...lets say you need a Mac, or love a Mac because of it's great design and OS. But it doesn't have crap for GAMES...which is true. Now you just got the best of both worlds. You don't necessarily have to get rid of OSX.

Personally, I think Mac did the right thing by moving over to Intel based CPUs, etc. I think more people will be inclined to buy a Mac now, plus, there's the option of opening up a world of software now for it. I'm actually interested in purchasing one of the newer Macs, simply because of all of the design and video work I do. Being able to use Final Cut Pro would make my fuggin' day. :mouth_water:

My gaming has moved more and more to consoles over the years. So much so that I think my next desktop & laptop might be Macs. Most of what I do on the computer now is photo or video related...so I figured why not go with a Mac? Those are two things they do very well.
