Just was just going through my picture box and came across some old pictures of cars I used to own. Here's one:

Umm...I don't really have any pics of my old cars. They weren't exactly interesting anyways..87 Nissan Stanza, 95 Toyota Corolla, 2000 Celica GT-S.
:sadpace:
Here's some of my older Celica. I only had an Injen CAI, B&M short shifter, front & rear TRD strut bars, a 60-shot of Nitrous, and suspension goodies:

Cool . . .
Here's one of my '78 Mazda Luce. Notice the 48 Weber downdraft. The strut is off because we had to convert our cars back to stock for "Inspection" (safety check).
http://www.hawaiitalks.net/photopost/data/500/78_Luce.jpg
Here's the parts list:
Complete Trust tuned exhaust system (for a Cosmo, but I made it fit)
Tokiko (heavy) shocks (the green ones)
Skyline competition front suspension springs
48mm Weber downdraft carburator (w/summer jets and winter jets)
(2) Koei C.D.I.'s (capacitive discharge ignition)
(2) Blaster coils
Ultra 8.5 ignition wires
RX3 transmission
Resporo (piston engine) Luce drive shaft
7x14, 8x14 Long Champ wheels w/Potenza tires
Racing flywheel w/"kyoka" heavy pressure plate
Door Mirrors (these cars came with fender mirrors. That's why you see those "Bat Mobile" rubber aero wing thingies on the fenders to cover the holes)
This car was weird. It was a 5 speed standard shift car with a torque converter. So when I installed the racing flywheel, I had to get a "normal" transmission. Because of the shorter length, I had to go to the junk yard and find a longer driveshaft. Eventually it all worked.

Amazing how back in the day...you just had to "make it all fit", huh? Check out that old school Mobil 1 can! You don't see those anymore! :gapteeth:

Yeah, you notice the hammer there too...make it fit!:shakesfist:

Ah...the Big F'in Hammer. Standard Mini kit, that is. :)
I remember the cans as well - you had to poke 'em with the drain spout thingy.
I owned an '85 and an '86 CRX before I decided they were too big and got into Minis.
I noticed the huge pipe wrench more than the hammer. :hammer1:
Yeah, if the hammer didn't work I would use the pipe wrench. Actually, the pipe wrench was for taking the shock out of the strut tube. Did you notice the shiny paint job? My first body and paint work. I used acrylic lacquer, half gallon of color and one gallon of clear. Wet sanded the clear (after painting) and buffed it out (I remember rubbing the first couple of layers of skin off my finger tips in doing so).

Welps...I got rear-ended by some lady with a cellphone in a Jeep Cherokee...so, while I was getting that repaired, along with getting the bodykit put on, I figured what the hey...I'll paint the ugly console and LCD screen as well.
So I took it all apart and had them paint it while they were at it. It came out really nice...got complements on it all the time...espescially the LCD screen. :D

I dont have any pictures of my old cars but...
I had a hand me down 86 4DR Accord LXi as my 1st car, then I bought a motocycle, an FZR600 when the trans in the Accord crapped out. then I bought an 88 Alltrac, then after two rebuilds...I gave up and bought at Buick t-type. Then I sold that car to buy me a motorcycle.

Jeez DK you've run the spectrum. I guess since you mentioned the X1/9 (wasn't that the one that looked like a door stop)? :)
http://www.fiat124spider.it/images/124-Gregory-USA.jpg
(not my car, but for illustration purposes)
My *first* car that I owned was a Fiat 124 ( ...the 2 seat convertable that we used to get in the US. Non pointy front). I paid way too much for it... I was brand new "out on my own" from home and stationed here in Hawaii. It was a convertable, and hey...chicks dig convertables. :) So - picked it up and parked it at the front gate (while I worked at the gate all night). The next morning I changed and a buddy and I decided to take it out to breakfast. I started it up and went to put it in reverse. The shift lever fell *through the damn floor*. I was pretty mad. I got out and the door wouldn't close. Opened the hood and the damn hood almost fell off of the hinges.
I put the top up, locked the keys in it, and called our "abandoned vehicle" guy. 2 days later it was gone. Sheesh...expensive mistake. I did learn a few things from that lesson though!
Anyone else got a first car "horror" story?
(edit) jeez that's a nice 124. If mine looked like that I'd still own it! ...I'm itchin to get a Fiat 500 / 600. Another tiny-ass car for my grape-ape size.
Bill you must have a huge garage! Dirk I wish I new the feeling of buying a new car (15? don't you get your license at 18 in Japan). Looking at you guys I must be a junk collector. Here's my list:
1). 1978 Mazda Luce Regatto, used (gave it to my Dad after converting it back to stock).
2). 1978 Skyline Japan, used (after 7 engines, 3 transmissions and 2 rear ends, I totalled it...BAD. Transmission locked up on me while I was at 7000rpm in 5th. Speedo only goes to 180 clicks, so don't know the actual speed...anyhow long story).
3). 1975 Toyota Corona, 2dr, used (my daily driver while I worked on the Skyline)
4). 1973? Toyota Celica GTV, used (1600cc twin cam version)
5). 1980 Mazda RX7, used (previous owner murdered is girlfriend, got thrown in prison which gave me the opportunity to buy it from his bank).
6). 1978 Mazda RX7, used (bridge port 13B build by local well known tuner. 60mph in first @ 12,000rpm).
7). 1978 Mazda RX7, used (abandoned vehicle by GF's twin brother. This is the white SA in the first post. Yeah, it wasn't me that cut vents in the fenders).
8). 197? Chevrolet Monza (starter vehicle when I first moved here)
9). 197? Toyota pickup (boss felt sorry for me and gave me this rust bucket).
10). A few miscellaneous cars & trucks here and there.
11). 1987 Mazda RX7 Turbo II (turbo waste gate stuck wide open, lots of power, BUT blew up 2 motors).
12). Almost forgot. 1990 Ford Mustang (was racing school car and again, boss felt sorry for me and said, here ya go)
13). 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo (too small and girlie for me, so the first person to offer me more than I paid for it, got it).
14). 2000 Mazda MPV LX, still own (same as Dirk, influenced by a new born kid).
15). 1999 Chevy Silverado, still own (thank you sponsor, thank you!)
16). 1993 Mazda RX7, (was my track car/money pit, but no more race track).

Latka,
Funny that you mention the Spyder (the 124) because when my X 1/9 shorted out it was parked in my Aunt's garage and my cousin's Spyder was parked next to it; needless to say, that was one crispy Spyder but the house was OK.
Note to EVERYONE - NEVER open the garage door when a car is on fire in the garage.....the fresh oxygen makes the fire stronger. That's what the fire marshall was telling me but I actually didn't open the garage door - the fire burned the garage door opener and it kept opening and closing on its on (probably fanning the fire too). Outside was storming and I had a giant bonfire in the garage. :undertheweather:

So is that like RX35? :gapteeth: Or does that Luce count as an RX4, which would make it RX39? :icon_wink:
OMG, '73 Celica GTV! AWESOME!
On-base license was 16 (like states) but we weren't allowed to drive off-base until 18. (Which I strictly followed of course! And I'm sticking to that story 26 years later!)
After the X 1/9 and GTI problems, I promised to never get a used car again!

Yup, that's here. This happened about about 10 years ago. The car that caught fire you're talking about is (or was) the NASCAR truck that we lost a few months ago. Both fires happened on the straight between Turns 1 & 2.The NASCAR truck driver DID pull the fire extinguisher handle, BUT Lesson #2: pull the pin on the extinguisher before you drive. The driver pull the handle so hard, he pulled the cable right out of the car. This driver walked away as well.

Nope, unfortunately no huge garage. One of these days...
The 2 Harleys and the Miata are shoehorned into a single parking stall at my condo. The Camaro is in a commercial storage unit near my sister's house in Seattle, and the Z is in a wooden crate inside my sister's garage. The 4Runner is parked in my sister's driveway, she uses it as a theft deterrant to keep anyone from driving away with her pet Miata parked btwn my truck and her house.
I also have most of another Z-1 (less engine) sitting on my lanai, and as of this past Wednesday I have most of yet another Z-1 (less frame) stashed in a commercial storage unit here on island.
Somebody help me...

Oh yeah, all the $1 cars that used to pass from person to person as PCS season came up.
Not like that anymore, at least on Yokosuka. I think maybe the Russian market has taken all of those old beaters out of the used car marketplace. Plus, now with the import tuning craze, a lot of the young kids are getting Skylines, etc and fixing them up.

Here's the first car I have pictures of, it was actually the 2nd car I owned. I had originally bought a car from the Auto Auctions and sold it for profit, ended up buying this car. It was a 1989 Chevy Camaro RS got my hands on it in 1996, had it the last two years of high school, few years after high school and I took it to Drift Session to see what drifting was. This car eventually died a horrible death in 2003 and was stripped and trashed.
http://powerslideways.com/misc-images/CrazyHDrift1.jpg
http://powerslideways.com/misc-images/CrazyHDrift2.jpg
Here's some pictures of my old Truck, this was back in like 2000. After high school I got into trucks, bought this truck from someone on the Windward side, did a few mods but it was a ticket magnet. I loved the stock green color. Ended up selling this one and taking a loss. But it was fun while it lasted, turned alot of heads.
http://powerslideways.com/misc-images/ShawnsTruck1.jpg
http://powerslideways.com/misc-images/ShawnsTruck2.jpg
After I sold that truck in 2003 I bought a black 1992 Camaro RS Police Package from a Police Officer, then few months later some guy offered me $7K out of nowhere because its a rare model, so I sold it for profit. Few weeks after that I saw a 1991 Camaro Z28 for sale, bought that one and had some $$ left over. I've kept that 1991 Z29 ever since, its been my project car. Here's a few somewhat recent pictures of the Z28, like 2004/2005:
http://powerslideways.com/misc-images/CrazyHCamaro2.jpg
http://powerslideways.com/misc-images/Z28-Picture1.jpg
After buying the Z28 and the original RS from up top died, I decided to get another car for Drifting, ended up getting a 1989 Chevy Camaro IROC-Z for pretty cheap, painted it green the first week I had it, then took it to Drift Session. Here's some pics from when I first got it 2004 to what it looks like now 2006

Then at the end of 2005 I got my hands on another 1992 Camaro RS Police Package for a very good price at the Police Auto Auctions. I'm currently restoring this car so I can sell it to make a profit and continue building the Z28 and IROC-Z. Here's a picture of the car when it was a cop car! Then below it is a more recent picture with the police stuff removed.

1. 86 Ford Ranger - the beater truck
2. 86 Honda CRX DX - back in the mid 90's, made it all ricer
3. 85 Honda CRX DX - was kinda buss, stripped it
4. 83 VW GTi Rabbit - still got it!
5. 86 VW Golf 16V - my first autox car, fun tire lifting
6. 89 Honda CRX Si - vtec, turbo - one of the early kinda fast hondas!
7. 89 Mazda MX-6 turbo - massive suspension damage, but was fast
8. 90 Eagle Talon AWD - first DSM... fun, fast, and always breaking
9. 92 Mitsu Eclipse GSX - spent over 16k on it - 12's in the 1/4, awesome track car, ALWAYS broken.
10. 91 Audi 100 - nice, quiet, auto
11. 85 Toyota Celica GTS - the first drift car!
12. 95 Mazda Miata M-edition - second drift car, first convertible - and i got hooked.
13. 88 Honda CRX Si - all stock, drove for a short time, sold to my cousin
14. 90 Toyota Celica GT - 210k miles, kept on going
15. 91 Prelude Si - fun, but had no AC
16. 90 Mazda Miata - bought just for hard top, sold
17. 91 Mazda Miata - the current autox fun car
18. 95 Acura Integra - bought with burnt valve, fixed, gave to father
19. 04 Mazdaspeed Miata - current daily driver, part time autox/road race car
20. 76 VW Rabbit - SCCA GT3 car, not street legal, no where to drive it.

Not too many mods, but this car was unique because it was 13 years old, had only one owner (prior to me), had 45,000 miles on the chassis and 5,000 miles on the motor & turbo. Mods were, Tien coilovers, HKS exhaust, blow-off valve. The wheels on the car in this pic were'nt mine. I had mine on the side of my house one night and some friggen kids stole them that night! So, in order for the new owner to test drive the car, he had to bring some wheels down with him. What's on the car is 7.5J & 8.5J x 17.

ack, im too young and don't go thru enough cars.
anyways:
1. 83 Yamaha RX50 street bike (still buried somewhere)
2. 86 Ford Escort (blew up motor)
3. 90 Mercury Cougar (gave to bro)
4. 92 Miata (still have on mainland)
5. another 86 Ford Escort (sold for $150)
6. 91 Dodge Shadow convertible (sold for $200)
7. 74 BMW 2002 (current daily driver)
and yeah, ever since I got mine, I've seen a whole lot of nice 2002s around. Most look much nicer than mine.... but by now mine probably runs a lot better and gets raced a lot harder than them. Don't think there's any S14 powered 02s on this island that I know about.
Right now mine is slightly multi-colored since I stripped down the slightly rusty spots and covered them with POR-15, and covered them with mismatched blue paint. I'm gonna get some paint that matches better soon, and eventually I'd like to put on fender flares, airdams, and paint the whole car. Right now its an awesome daily driver/beater with no worries.

takes the worries out of driving...
parents bought me the first escort as a learner car....
then later bought the other escort for $150 so i wouldn't have to drive miata in winter.... then the dodge was just the $300 beater for cruisin in honolulu.

oh yeah, mine were off-roaded heavily.... the first one died because i didn't quite understand the concept of coolant.... and managed to get it up to 90 mph on a gravel road... but by the time i got home i was runnin on 1-cylinder.
the 2nd one was far uglier than the first, and we intentionally kicked the crap out of it and my 300 lb. friend did some cannonballs onto the hood.
not sure if you've been around snow much, but when they plow parking lots, they usually pile up massive piles of snow somewhere in the lot, which become mostly ice. Well I'd climb up them with the escort, or just ramp them. Or, sometimes I just parked halfway up a snow mountain. It was hilarious leaving the car parked teetering with two wheels like 3 feet off the ground.

This is the only picture I have of my Skyline until recently when my old buddy in Okinawa sent me some that he had. I'll post them up later after I scan them.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g290/trackblazer/Okinawa/1978Skylineengine.jpg
Mod list:
*2.8L (propane) engine. These cars only came with a 2.0L inline six, so 800cc's more felt great! Plus the liquid propane burning engines had a different cam profile and compression, so more power! Of course with the Mikuni's I was using gasoline.
*triple Mikuni's
*"no name" header & exhaust system. It was dual 50mm all the way back. sounded great!
*Tokiko "heavies" shocks w/cut springs.
*lightweight flywheel (I don't hear of people doing this in Hawaii. Was one of the first mods we did)
*Ultra CDI ignition (another mod we used to do right away, but not here. maybe the newer cars have adequate ignitions?)
*headlight conversion (from 4 round lights to 2 rectangular ones)
*taillight conversion also (from '78 model to '82, same with the headlights, so it looked natural)
*Volk Racing wheels. These 16 spoke 3 piece wheels came with wheel covers you bolt from the inside. An idea copied from the old Group C cars. Remember those vent covers for the front wheels only for brake cooling? This worked great for getting away with having wide wheels while driving on base.
*Acrylic lacquer do-it-yourself paint job. Can never get that gun metal grey color...keeps coming out brownish. Look at the Luce picture in the early post, same thing there.

Man she rolls a lot... all I had running through my head was, "Yo, ho, yo, ho a pirates life for me!" :D
Tom, I might be putting a cylinder head with twin 40mm Mikuni PHHH (I think that's their designation for the side-draft carbs)...anyway, putting that on a Mini engine. I'm going to need some help from you guys who've actually tuned carbs like that!
I thought I posted this picture here, but can't find it anywhere. Anyhow, here's one of my '78 RX7.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g290/trackblazer/Okinawa/BlackRX7.jpg
This was the car that the previous owner (yes, an American) killed his girlfriend got thrown in prison, so I bought the car from his bank. Actually the bank branch manager was a guy I knew and he gave me the first and final bit on this car ($500). It was basically stock except for suspension (GAB 5-way adjustable shocks & cut springs). It also had Dunlop racing tires. They were basically racing slicks with groves. Very popular (& cheap) back then (1987). Only lasted 3 months though.
Sure thing. What size is the engine? If less than 2.0L, 40's might be over carberated (I know 45's were too big for a 2.8L stock six cylinder). The basic jet setup would be 180 air and 140 fuel using a F11 emulsion tube. My terminology might be a little off, but I remember those settings. The next trick is to balance or sinc the carbs together. I usually do it by cylinder work load. What you do is shut off one set of carbs and have the egine run only on the other. With a techometer (Tach & dwell meter. Do they sell those nowadays?). Set the optimum rpm by adjusting the idle screws (try to idle the engine at the lowest rpm possible). Ganted, the engine will run rough. Shut that carb off and do the same to the other. This will set the carbs for each cylinder. Watch for signs of untuned carbs. 1). popping or back firing when initial acceleration. mainly caused by unsinc'd carbs. 2) popping or breaking up at high rpm. caused by having too lean of a mixer. 3). Engine struggles to accelerate or the power is "wavy" during hard acceleration. Caused by too rich of a mixture. In Hawaii, I don't think you will have to worry about having 2 sets of jets (summer and winter). You may experience performance changes if you go up to, let's say Tantalis were the air is cooler and thinner.
Dual or triple carbs! How fun and cool that was! Grunt!!
Nice video, too Funk. :)

Ooh...sweet!!! I have a pair of 40s and a pair of 45s (my buddy is going to give them to me). Would love to scoop up / buy whatever jets you've got when the time rolls around!
The Mini, as you may or may not remember, uses a funky cylinder head design like the early VW Rabbits - the intake and exhaust ports are on the same side (firewall) of the head. A Dutch company called AKM made this crossflow head - you can use the "standard" cams and exhaust yet you get twin side draft (drought?) carbs up front. They reccomend 40s, but I think a few guys have run 45s. The engine will most likely be 1310cc. It's a lot of carb for the engine, but they've been quite successful with it so far so I know it can be done. :) Oh and it'd be way b****in cool too :)

Yeah, the longest/earliest video is from its first time at AX, with stock suspension and completely dead shocks. You could compress them with one finger. They didn't video it, but I went into one slalom too hot, and almost rolled, continued to make the turn, and she rocked up on the other 2 wheels, then back again for a 3rd time on 2 wheels!
Yeah, in the later videos I got Bilsteins, and eventually H&R springs... not sure which video has which mods. I've now got huge sway bars on it too, but no videos of that. It corners a bit flatter now.:couch3:

I dug this picture up. It was my uncle's car in Okinawa. The car is a '71? Mitsubishi Galant. The top of the line (and probably very rare) Galant at the time was the GTO model. The GTO came with a DOHC motor. My uncle couldn't afford it, so he made his galant look like a GTO by adding the GTO fender flares (similar to what people do with the hakosuka). You can tell he lowered it considerably and also back then it was cool to remove the grill! The little girl standing in front of the car is my cousin; she's 30 something now!

just in recent times from what I can remember I've been through a shit load of cars and rentals:
stupid jag vert with no trunk or back seat space
which was traded in for the 4 door jag I liked that one a lot very luxe!
then I bought noob's old E30
my Ford Ranger arrived on the island
sold the E30
rented a CJ for shits and giggles
which was traded in for a Dodge Caliber
bought a Caliber
sold the truck
oh yeah and bought an ///M3 last year which sat on jackstands till recently.
I shoulda' bought a 350z / G35 and supercharged that. someday.
Pantera is bros car. Had this in the same color but with a black vinyl top.

In the pics you can see him hiding his nub where his pinky finger used to be. He, he.
Nice house too! Is that a 3 car garage I see?
We bought my ex a 525 before. It turned out to be a lemon. First the radiator sprung a leak (made out of plastic so cannot be repaired). That was 450 bucks. Then one of the ignition coils malfunctioned and burn out the computer (1500 buckaroos there to get the computer rebuilt). Not to mention replacing all 6 coils so it would happen again (I think they were a couple hundred each!). Battery died one time and guess what? Electronic door locks, so I had to crawl under the car and hook up jumper cables to the starter so that the car had juice to unlock the doors so that we could get the hood open. The shop I took it to told me that BMW standed for "Bring Money Willingly", he was right except for the willingly part.
Anyhow, after I fixed all of the problems, it turned out to be a really nice car. I even put 16 x 8.5 DP wheels on it. Wish I had taken pictures if it though.

Ahh, dead battery stuff. The trick is to use the key on the passenger door. It'll have resistance, but it will unlock the car. If that doesn't work, pop the trunk and jumper the interior trunk light.

Ok, here are a few of mine that I found:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/AndyKauffman/Minis/00460fac.jpg
From left to right we have the 1971 998cc Mini, the 2002 MINI Cooper S, and the 1964 Austin Mini Cooper S (1071cc). In the background your standard plane-jane Accord and a Frontier pickup. Sheesh - all of 'em are gone now. I guess things don't get to sit too long over here. :)
This was late 2002, 'cause we had just gotten the new MINI. Probably late September. Loved the plate we had for it - "POLN8". Used to get people saying "Pole -nate? I don't get it." Even when I would point out that bees are black and yellow they'd look at me with a blank stare. Too bad "It looks like a bumblebee, dumbass" was too long for the Hawaii state plates.

no, i did the swap. looks like someone left a wrench in the trans when they changed the clutch and blammo. they changed the trans but the crank was eggshaped. i'm pretty sure it was a 91, i get confused with so many piles of junk under my belt.

this is another swap i did, the old 3.8L was a boat anchor, i managed to find a 350 Poncho big block, tore everthing out, rewired the trans TCC for a manual set up and peeled the rubber off those crappy mom&pop tires. new wider tires and a bright red paint job, we were the original owners of this 81 Pontiac, purchased in Redwood City CA. IIRC. :D
that's a blue Colorado sticker on the windshield....i forget why we had that, some kind of emission or safety thing.....geez i feel old when i can't remember stuff. :toofless:

heh, I wish. The Bel Air needs a paintjob and a ton of-rechroming ($$$) to look nice. The 31 needs some body work and new seats and maybe a top, then its good to go.
But, no matter what shape they're in... there's no way my family would ever let me sell them. It's just not an option. So, no profit whatsoever can be made.
It's just a guess, but I bet my oldest brother got conceived in the back of the Bel Air. My parents also used that car to elope.....

You were born in 1988 and you're driving cars now? Jeez, makes me feel young.
Here's a couple more shots of my RX7's. White was a '78 and the black one was a '80. The white got a tailight conversion along with all the other aero mods. It also had, what we called a kirikai (correct if my pronounce if it is wrong Dirk and Bill), which is a valve in the exhaust system that either flowed through the entire system (for quietness) or straight piped it out the side (which was VERY loud).

No not me. Wasn't that where that college girl died when the off-duty P.O. ran the red light at high speed and hit her? That's a dangersous spot.
Actually I got rear-ended on Nimitz, past Kalihi St.. Couple witnesses said the Honda was going freeway speed when he hit me. Almost knocked me out.

LONG LONG LONG list of American iron... with a few imports for flavor. A body GM cars 64-72... lots of them...
Current list:
1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS (parts)
1986 Buick Regal Grand National (parts)

Here's a couple more shots of my RX7's. White was a '78 and the black one was a '80. The white got a tailight conversion along with all the other aero mods. It also had, what we called a kirikai (correct if my pronounce if it is wrong Dirk and Bill), which is a valve in the exhaust system that either flowed through the entire system (for quietness) or straight piped it out the side (which was VERY loud).
Almost. Kirikae, meaning something like "switch over."
Unfortunately, all my pix of old cars are in storage. There was our family's 1980 Nissan Leopard (first year model) that looked really cool. It was a model never introduced to the US. Once I moved to Seattle for college , there was a 1977 Toyota Celica Liftback which I wish I still owned. Everything else I still own.
Welll, except for the ex-Fujicolor Toyota Hiace van I drove in Sasebo, Japan during the mid 90's. It still had the green strips and you could see where the katakana for "Fujicolor" used to be. When I left, I swapped it for a soda to a guy in my bike club. That was a great van because you could fit a Harley in the back.

Nice cars, Rob. Hope you get your GNX someday... and not for 100 grand, either. Aiee.
Lezz see.... first car, '75 Maverick 4-door. Also my first engine swap. (6-in a row out, 302 Windsor/ FMX trans in).
'68 Barracuda fastback. I don't even like to think about it, I was dumb to get rid of it. :cry3:
'75 Nova Custom 4-door (if you still read this Lois, it was David Mukai's mom's car; 350/Turbo 350 trans, dual exhaust)... I miss that sleeper.
'90 Honda Civic; bought brand new. Still own it after all that trouble with financing and ownership with low pay.
'86 Honda Civic; my GF (now wife)'s car. Old but had the coldest A/C I ever had in a car. Gave it to our friend who was down and out.
'85 CRX; had from brother-in-law for about a year. Gave it back.
Wasn't mine but had in possession ("company" cars)
'95 Chevy Lumina APV van (the Space Shuttle car); had lots of interior room for an easy to drive car, save for the massive dashboard and sloped windshield; even had a mini light-bar on the dash for work.
'94 Nissan Hardbody King Cab; I miss that one too. The person who got it after me drove it into the ground (literally).
Currently on Molokai (none are mine);
1999 Dodge 15 passenger van; had since day one here... finally getting a bit rusty from being next to the sea; still runs good, more holes in the roof than a golf course, fiberglass and "lava lining" on roof to repair. No joke.
1989 Toyota Pickup truck; rubbish hauler and general work truck. If you live or work on Molokai, you NEED a truck. If you can only afford one vehicle, it has to be a truck. My daily driven "horse".
2000 Ford Explorer; our newest acquisition, even if it is 8 years old. Cleanest vehicle we have here... now the wife uses it for daily use, and we use it to pick up VIPs (like my boss/ pastor).
1989 Isuzu Pickup on site "work vehicle"; only because my golf cart died. Paperwork is all 'bus. Engine might go any day, but I run it on the property any way. Hard working. Carries all my tools and serves as my mobile "shop".
I spoil all the vehicles in my care; which reminds me; I'm not done buffing out our big van. If it rains tonight, it's my fault. It could be burning hot day, and as soon as I polish the van, almost like clockwork, it rains. Sometimes really hard.
I buffed out the van with Malco Rejuvenator. Looks pretty nice. So you've been warned.
I miss all my old cars.

disclaimer: photo is for representation purposes only.
My first car was a pinto. It was forest green (a nice dark green). Had it for less than a month before I froze the engine (had an oil leak that I didn't check for a week). Bought for $500, sold for $100.
197? Ford LTD (ex.highway patrolman's car. 4 barrel carb. v8. great memories. effortless 80mph cruising.)
1984 Toyota Corolla 2d sedan. RWD.
1990 Chevy Corsica LTZ. my first FWD.
1982 Toyota Tercel 2d sedan.
1982 Toyota Tercel 4d sedan.
1984 Mazda B2000 extra cab pickup.
198? Buick Century. 4d sedan.
2001 GMC Safari van.
1989 Dodge Ram50 pickup.
last two I still have. I wasn't going to put up my list since it's so boring compared to everyone else's but I think it's worth a laugh or two. :hihi:
I also have had:
1986 Yamaha YSR50
1986 Yamaha RZ350
1987 Yamaha Razz
1988 Yamaha Razz
1989 Yamaha Razz (engine swap with a Yamaha jog).
1989 Honda Elite E (souped up & custom paint)
2000 Yamaha Razz (still runs like a champ)
1989 Honda Elite E (project, in pieces.)
These are mopeds, with the exception of the first two--which are motorcyles.
The last three I still have.
This thread brings up an interesting part of our history. I think I'll have to dedicate a page of my journal to this topic, if and when I eventually make time to do so.

Here's a 1st gen Nissan Leopard. I learned to drive in one of these. It was a great car. Fast, and fantastic suspension.

Of the regular contributers to HT, there are three of us "old timers" that were hot rodders, I mean respectable DOD high school students in Japan at about the same time. REH was in Okinawa, dkmini was in Yokota (outskirts of Tokyo), and I was in Yokosuka (a bit further away from Tokyo). REH and dk were much more into cars than I was, bikes were my area of expertise.
