My friend's xB is almost to 100K miles, and I might help her out with any maintenance. I was worried about the timing belt and such, but I just googled, and found out that its got a timing chain. :eusa_dance:
That's odd that Toyota went back to using chains, but definitely good for reliability.
I haven't gotten a chance to look at the owner's manual yet, so if someone could look and tell me, I'd appreciate it. I'm thinkin maybe just accessory belts and such, real easy. But if its a bigger job, I may avoid the subject and encourage her to pay someone to do it. I just don't have the time for a big job on someone else's car.

Thanks yo, sounds like easy stuff. If I'm flushing the coolant, might as well throw in a new t-stat and cap, unless the xB has anything weird in it. Now I just gotta get her drunk ass over here with some parts. :freak6:

mainland in backwoods town... we put on the miles with daily commutes. My brother drives over 200 miles a day, and a friend just told me he'll be driving over 250 miles a day... yay for gas prices!

Timing chain should last the life of the car, but probably need to check the tensioner.
