I was wondering exactually what recon looks for when looking at modified headlights. I'm cuurentlly installing Hella 90mm projectors into my 240. The lights are DOT\SAE complient. They are not HIDs.

I want it to look like this

I intend to remove the popup motors and have the headlights in a fixed position. Is this passable?

Thanks,
Shane

Shane hang on, it's been looked and and is being discussed with DOT.

as of now, the rule of thumb is HiDs with ballast (aftermarket) are non-approved lighting equipment.

you said they aren't HiDs so i'll make sure and point that out again

Thanks for the update, I've been wondering about this for a couple years now. I'm in the process of re-fabbing my brackets to allow for more adjustments while installed.

Sidenote: The car pictured above is fitted with a HID setup but my setup is using Hella H9 bulbs. Its not super white or blue in anyway.
