over heating...

ok so my car is over heating... i noticed a smalll leak so i fixed that still doing the same thing...

its NOT loosing coolent except frm the over flow......


what could this be...

i think i hear a leak from the block.. but its also right next to the thermostat housing so i could just be hearing the coolent in there...

also ther eis no coolent in the oil

any ideas..

also im flushing the coolent system right now.. hope it works..but im doubtful..

ugh...

it gets up to temp... stays there for maybe 3 or 4 min then starts to over heat...

but i fixed it i think...

took out the thermostat.. drove for about 10 min.. all seemed ok..

now.. should i put anoter in or just leave it out?

make sure your fans turn on
you shouldn't lose any coolant

make/model/yr? maybe someone has specific exp.

Just get a new thermostat and put it in dude, this is easy stuff for any car. It's a couple bucks and its important for getting your engine up to temperature quicker(easier on the engine and easier on fuel mileage).
While you're at it, get a new radiator cap. It's a couple bucks and its important for holding pressure in the cooling system.
Also, be sure you've bled all the air out of the system.

prolly what happened was tstat died, car heated up, blew a leak somewhere...
