Crap guys i got 2 weeks exactly to get all my shit together.....

so i've got my 4 lenses, 3 CF cards (a 4 gig and 2-2 gig) a cleaning cloth, a backpack to hold everything in, everything is listed with all the serial numbers with the insurance co., my passport has copies made...

I still have to tell the bank that i'm leaving soon and I gotta keep saving my damn money. This has been hard for me...

but AM I MISSING ANYTHING????????

I figured since my last thread kinda got jacked and this is more up-to-the-wire and so forth it might be better for me to kinda start a new one.

thanks again guys.

Itinerary. Make one up and leave on with parents to a responsible and trusted friend. Try to keep in contact with that person so they know that you're safe. If they don't hear from you, they should be instructed to contact the US Embassy in which ever country you were supposed to be in or what country you last left. You may think this is over kill but it's better to be safe than sorry IMO.

Update your cellphone firmware if you plan on using it in Europe (or if it's even possible for u to use it). Get a calling card for emergencies. Know the number of the US Embassy in every country you plan on going to. Change your money to euros before you leave. Keep your passport, ID and cash in different pockets (meaning keep one in your backpack, one in your pants pocket, one in your jacket pocket etc.

Be mindful of your surroundings while traveling. If you feel uncomfortable or think you're in danger, go to a well lit and/or populated area and ask for help. Don't be afraid to ask for help or directions.

Good luck and be safe.

If you need to recharge your batteries, get one of those universal socket things since Europe has different sockets and voltages.

re: cellphones. i think i read somewhere that unless you have one of those unlocked quad band phones, it's cheaper to rent/purchase a phone up there and use that (on a local carrier). at least that way, you'll know you'll get service, you'll get the charger with the correct plug for whereever you'll be staying at most, etc...

I got some adapters off of amazon... and i got this travel extension cord so that I can have my gadgetz hooked up n chargin. Instead of going through the trouble of getting a phone, im getting a phone card. unfortunately all the ones in Longs are for southern Asia....... Safeway maybe? at least BOH told me they won't sieze my account if i go to europe and try to withdraw money.
