View Full Version : who knows where your imagination can take you???
I just had to post this up cause I thought that it was funny/different/stupid. Here is the info behind this picture....First off, this is why you should NEVER buy used stuff unless you know it has everything. I am in the process of putting back together my FD and ran into a snag when i came to installing a set of greddy intakes. I picked this up used so I didn't know if I was missing anything or if anything was damaged. Anyways, Kili and I couldn't figure out how to put the front intake on because it was either hitting the radiator fan, intercooler piping, or the body. After getting fustrated with the situtation, we decide to be "different". We used what we could off of the greddy intake system, but then also decided to use parts of the HKS intake setup. So now, I have installed a greddy/HKS hybrid intake system. I know it may look retarded, but hey it works. I have no instructions on how to install the greddy setup and do not know if anything is damaged that could be preventing my from installing the greddy intake. So, I just did the next best thing. So here is the end result.....

Did I make the right choice to stay away from rotory motors? I almost got an FD instead of my MSM, but after all the times spend around road racers and autoxers who keep blowing them up, it scared me away..

what a coincidence, this FD had a blown motor. As of right now you are asking the wrong person cause this is my first experience with a rotary. But for now I can say that this car is a pain in the ass because everything is expensive for it, nobody has any parts locally for it. Even the oem parts you have to order from the mainland....AND motors are hard to come by and also expensive.

oh rx7, if your motor wasn't such a pain in the ass to deal with i would probably go out and by one. but alas, i never i want to see or hear the tragic sight of an apex seal going boom.

Yep, bad apex seals! I helped a coworker rebuild one from his rx-3 race car... again and again and again. it was easy tho, since it only had carbs.

theres a sick ass fd for sale over here. c-west type 2 bodykit, ginormous trust fmic, re-amemiya projector headlights, some exhaust that i don't know of and probably a whole bunch of other goodies. 18k or so but too bad no one on this island is crazy/good enough for me to trust to work on a rotary. even my friends dad who builds dragsters and hot rods told me he wouldn't ever want to touch it, and he's the most badass mechanic i've ever seen
It FINALLY RUNS!!!!! yeah...now i just have to finish up on the small things and then get it back out on the road.
