squeaky hamster wheels?
or perhaps from the hamsters themselves, as they're so excited to finally get to get some exercise!!! j/k j/k :gapteeth: j/k

squealing usually do come from the belts. check for tautness. tighten those belts and they usually stop they're squealing! :)

^or old belts...if it looks worn, get a new one, THEN tighten. it might work. be suire to take of all the gunk on the pulleys too if you do get a new one.

Belts are easy as pie to replace. Some vehicles have tensioners whereas others require the power steering, or alternator, or A/C compressor, etc to be loosened. It doesn't seem like you have a serpentine belt since the squealing only occurs with the A/C on, so find the A/C compressor, push and pull on the belt, and see if any of the pullies move. If a pulley moves, that's your auto tensioner, and the direction in which it moves is the way you need to pull it, in order to slack the belt. If not, find out which component needs to be loosened and slacked (in all likelihood it's the A/C compressor), and then you can remove and replace the belt as needed.

Keep in mind you may need to move several belts if the one you're trying to reach is behind another belt. Before removal, take note of how the belt is routed as well.

As long it aint the tensioner pulley, try tighten them first. if it still sqeaks, get all new accessory belts. takes 10 - 30 min to change (depending on the car) and eliminates that embarassing squeal.

ok i'll check it out maybe tomorrow evening, or some evening this week. Its getting towards the ast few weeks of the semester and i have huge finals coing up with unit test as well just prior to do. But yea..i'll most definitly check the tautness of the belts..thanks !

OHH yea..sometimes it happens when i turn the wheel too ..but only when its HOT. And i already replaced my timing belt at 75k miles

yep, its an accy. belt, timing belt wouldnt make noises..itd break your car if it was slipping/jumping :D

the turning = stress on power steering pump, warm = belt expands, gets looser. sounds like a classic new belt//tighter tension deal to me...

Is the belt that attaches to the AC compressor the same one that attaches to the P/S pump? If so, it's guaranteed the belt is too lose or its glazed. I'd just get a new one anyway, then you won't need to worry about it for a few years. Trying to tighten an old one might stretch it too much and it might break. Sucks to drive home without AC and PS...
