If you get the package 5 days after you ordered it. That sucks...I know that's how it works when you hit a weekend...but FedEx should deliver on Saturdays or something.
:explosion:
Next time I order something, I'm going to keep that in mind, and order on a Monday. :(
I think they do deliver on Saturdays or is that just USPS. If so, maybe USPS is the way to go...it's cheaper.

I think you have to designate a Saturday delivery option for FedEx and it's extra.
USPS is good for Saturday for sure.

+1 for USPS. There's supposed to be a freight foward company that ships stuff to hawaii so that you can take advantage of some of free ground shipping deals on the mainland. I think it was called Hawai`i Shipping or something like that.
Some places offer UPS ground shipping to Hawai`i too, and get the items to Hawai`i in 5 days.

You're talking about www.shiptohawaii.com right? Depending on what you are getting, it comes out to more. Takes a while to get here too because they consolidate everything (I think it was in Arizona) then ship it here, where it needs to get broken down again. If you ship a lot of big things though, it's worth it for sure.
I noticed that ever since I started talking to my UPS guy (I get a lot of deliveries), I've been getting my UPS stuff only one day longer than it takes in the mainland. I think a lot of it has to do with your delivery person loading your package onto the van for delivery.

That's something I was wondering as well...this package has been waiting since Friday to get to my house right? I have a feeling that it'll be like 5PM before it even arrives? That sucks...because it's more like 6 days for delivery. Ugh! :sadpace:
I did the calculating on that website www.shiptohawaii.com and it cost me LESS to get my parts here from Japan. I just got a shipment from Tokyo on a pallet. It weighed 400lbs. Shipping was $500 and the duties (@2.5%) was $36. The time before, I had a pair of Tein coilovers shipped the same way and the cost was around $70. Both packages took about a week to get here. Am I on to something here or what?

idk i like to place my orders for parts right before the weekend, like thrusday evening, so the order gets processed and shipped on friday, (even tho fedex or ups dont deliever on weekends they STILL ship stuff) so during the weekend your package is still moving, and hopefully by monday you get your package, its the same with USPS... even though they said 4-7 days for prority, most stuff i get get shipped out on thrusday or friday i get it on monday, idk the weekend may look like a long time, but iduno lol
shiptohawaii is good if you have like a small business or have a couple of people that order parts a lot...so you can split the membership fees and what not...
also if you want fast shipping..gota go with DHL, those guys are fast but expensive....

You don't mean using "shiptohawaii" to get parts from Japan right? Because I think it'd cost more because it gets shipped to the mainland first and then it would come here (double-dip).
Coilovers from Japan for $70 shipping sounds pretty good!

I did the quote thing on "shiptohawaii" and it was cheaper to do my deal then them. Makes no sense...you would think that it would way more expensive from Japan verses LA.

Oh, I see what you are saying now.
When a few of us checked to get tires/wheels shipped in, it was cheaper via the regular method (Fed-EX, UPS, or whatever it was).

I ordered tires from "tirerack" and then from "edgeracing" and the price for the tires are competitive, but the shipping is where the difference was. Tirerack was $25 per tire (for shipping) and edge racing was $45. Shipping makes the difference, I say!

Same here. Man reason I put Kumho MX's on my car vice Azenis. Plus the Kumhos have a good rep for traction in the wet, and I'm moving to Seattle:undertheweather: ...
