4x4 question

One of my employees has a Toyota 4x4 with a small lift.

He was wondering if an exo skeleton would be recon legal?

can't be covering up lights, as long as manufactured in a workmanlike manner, and no sharp edges sticking out.

i think i saw a couple of toys with exo-cages around on the street. iirc, one of them had a bobbed bed, cage around fenders/bed and fenders/hood and up and over the doors, but did not in any way impede ingress/egress. the cage tied f/r together with rock sliders that doubled as running boards.

i think another one had a back-halfed cage, and front cage going over fenders and around the front of the car.

none of the cages interfered with entry/exit or covered up oem lighting, although it did provide convenient mounting points for cb antennas/lights. not sure how they handled the winch mounting, i don't think they were using ARB winch bumpers. the cages did tuck in nicely and follow body lines, too.
