k so its finally over...720p of macross goodness...ending was kind of weak sauce imo...
Alto is a damn player, like Ichijo Hikaru from original Macross was...But in the end all we get is a nice pan of the remaining Frontier crew on the Vajra planet...
This probably means one of the following
a) OVA sequel
b) Movie
c) Season2
d) All of the above
Overall I give the series a 7.5/10

Worth seeing?
I've never seen an entire Macross episode, I have watched all of the Robotech shows though. Would I like it?

Robotech is the bastardization of macross...I saw robotech when I was a kid...Then I saw Macross Movie: Do you remember love (basically sumarizes the whole macross 26ep tv show) and that was like 1000x more kick ass than Robotech could ever have been...
I'd suggest watching MacF as its got some pretty cool 3d mech action (if you like mech anime). It isn't a bad anime, but for me the ending killed it. Up until then, I enjoyed it.
The macross series is also all about music...And this one get 2 idols...Songs are pretty typical jpop style I guess...
Other macross to check out is Macross Movie, Macross Plus, and probably if you get time Macross 7 (back history to what transpires in Macross F, really lame plot, but some of the references in Macross F make more sense).

i'd say there are eps w/ action and then others that have not so much
but the action can be pretty cool...dogfights and watnot
crazy missles, huge lazer beams and things like that

I'll check it out. I never enjoyed the older Macross (the couple episodes I saw) it seemed too slow to me. Not enough action and too much person to person drama.

I downloaded and watched the first two episodes of Macross Frontier. Pretty good so far.

Okay,
I'm trying to watch it but its really jumpy for me in the action parts. I tried using media player classic and divx. Any suggestions on what to watch it with?

Wat version did you download?
I'd say d/l the 720p version as 1080p version is just insane...I can't play that smoothly either...
Also, dump all your codecs u have, and download the latest cccp...That should be sufficient to properly decode watever crap the fansubbers use...
I use mpc as well...Very good media player =)
Hope this helps...If not pm me and I can try help you out further.

I don't recall there being too many episodes with lots of action/fighting. The music's not bad. Personally, I liked Sheryl's singing/songs better than Ranka's.

I think I am running the latest cccp. I'll go check. Thanks
Okay, there was a newer version out. It seems to work fine now. It was lagging during all the flying/shooting type scenes.

Okay
Finally watched the season.
I think whoever wrote the storyline read Ender's game right before starting...
Overall, pretty good, better then I expected. Was worth watching.
