So I'm actually peeing in the right spot. this is the Honda discussion forum. :) Yay. Can I get my big boy pants now, Mike?
Not too may 1st gen CRXs out here. I had one (85) in San Diego, and then when I moved out here I got almost the identical car, but an '86. Yeah, yeah...here I go with 'small' cars again. It's strange though - I can fit in the 1st gen cars (non sunroof) better than I can fit in the last gen. Almost bought an '89 HF a while back...man that thing was a hunk of crap that the guy was trying to pass off as a diamond.
"What's this black stuff around the rear window?"
"OH, I sealed it."
"...and why?"
"It leaks a little. You know, they all do."
"Hmm...yet your add said "no rust"."
Glad I walked away from that one.
Anyway - I'm not really in the market, but how many 1st gen CRXs or Civics would ya say are out there? Sometime this year I may be looking for one.

Buahahahaha that's funny because from a this one wahine (female member of a distant board far far away) laughed at me when I said that CRX's can easily get into 12's N/A.

Well, 'ya figure that the 1st gen CRXs weighed what... like 1800 pounds? That with close to 200hp... yeah, that'd haul some bunnies wrapped in bacon. That and I just dig the square car look. :)

Yeah I have a 90 HF. The car kicks ass, but I have to drop the tranny and find out why I can't stay in 4th gear.

yup, it'll stay in 4th up until I gas it. It'll stay in 4th if I down shift.
It's a new ACT Clutch in there, the shifting was sticky for a little bit then it just free'd up on it's own. I have to check the cable slack as well as the clutch and flywheel.

I have an ACT in my RX-7...it's a good part from what I've seen.

I can't fit in the last gen CRXs (like a 90 or so) but I fit an 85/86 just fine. Strange, eh? Well, maybe not strange to anyone who's not a big ass grape-ape like me :)

That's why I like the Corolla, Supra, & RX-7 so much...they just have that unique look that's made them classic. :D

most infamous civic hatch in SF if you can imagine this, it was painted BRIGHT NEON PINK. the whole thing. so bright you could see it from Oakland. and it was pretty bad ass actually.
thing is it was parked outside and got it's windshield completely rocked in not once but twice then never seen again. poor car. but it took some real balls to rock, er, sport that car around town.
whatever happened to the mini-football Celicas? or the mini-fastback Celicas? never see those around at all, not even here. :(

I had two 1st gen CRX's, they were fun! Kinda slow, but light, nimble, and cheap. The only problems I had were the front fenders and front piece above the bumper kept cracking.. stupid plastics.

Bah. Turbo turbo turbo. :P N/A power, baby! :)
I agree with you, Cory - both of my CRXs had cracked fenders and the front bumper piece.
It was odd. I could fit in that car just fine, but when I crawl into the last gen CRX (no, the DelSol is not a CRX :)) I don't fit - even if it has no sunroof.
Would love to have an early CRX with a B16 in it. That'd be a fun little car.

I had a 86 CRX Si. I loved that car. I put the Jackson Racing HP kit in it and loved how nimble it was.

mine is [1] Garage right now, 91 CRX Si, hopefully they will be finished by next week. I will post pics when she is done, I have a lot to do when I get her back, new struts, new engine mounts, new stereo system, new clutch and axles and more. I don't think I will do a B16 swap on this one, maybe a SOHC Vtec swap later down the road.

Does the trans pops out of gear under load or when you decelerate? (engine braking)
