Hey guys

My saftey check expired this month, and i can't pass with my worn out tires. So I need some advice on what tires to buy. Right now, I have Potenza RE950's, which pretty much suck.

Anyway, I just need something decent to use on the street, I don't really wanna invest in super sticky race tires for my tiny 6.5in wide rims, but i don't want something rock hard either. Thanks, Graham

Well, I picked up some Fusions the other day for my WRX. They seem really quiet and where pretty cheap, but honestly, I didn't exactly go searching for the best tire for my needs...I just bought them 'cuz they were cheap. :D

I'm sure someone else has some ideas on what's a really good tire...you do race your car a bit, though.

from the mainland, tire rack has the cheapest shipping.
tire wise, i like potenza re750s, falken azenis, or dunlop direzzas.

Well, from Tire Rack you can get the Yokohama ES 100's. They're great for the first year or so, then get hard. But plenty tread left so you can pass safety inspection.

For a bit more money you can get Kumho MX's.

Take a look at the BFG G-Force Sport. Should have more grip then what you got right now, and good treadwear. Feels more grippy then the Direzzas too. The dunlops started to chunk a little after 10+ laps on the short course, but they seem to be wearing ok during street driving. Direzzas have soft sidewalls so high pressure is needed for good feel. From what I heard Ecsta MXs are pretty grippy, but suffer from soft sidewalls. Treadwear is not very good either, but they do last longer then Azenis rt-215s or rt-615s do.

Actually there, royuno, looking at your signature block, I don't think you have a JDM unibody. More of a JDM body-on-frame build, methinks. Unless you have an exoskeleton we don't know about...

Sorry, kind of bored tonight.

I will vouche for the Yoko ES-100's. Good tires. With small rims, they should be cheap.
