So since you've obviously been through alotta Corollas...did you notice a price increase as drifting became more and more popular? I mean...how did you fare on the prices for the cars...they look to be in pretty great condition overall.

The price for a 4AG car has gone up due to popularity. I haven't been in the AE86 scene as most of the folks... but I have seen the price bump.

My first SR5 I bought was around $1800... automatic on 13" steelies with about 108k miles. At the time, that seemed a bit expensive... but the car had a very solid body.

My dad's first GTS was just under $1700 running fine w/o A/C... which is impossible to get today!!

The price for a SR5 shell w/ minimum rust is what people are after, especially if the car you plan to build is more than a "beater."

My current car started as a SR5, auto also.. car was $600 (but had to pay almost $400 for registration fees... something with the plates) with very little rust, decent original paint and it ran good again w/o A/C.

On my budget, this car was a blast to put together. I hope to keep upgrading as I go and wish to put it on the track.

My old daily driver Celica GT - took a beating, kept on ticking. Even went on a track day with it to Streets of Willow... beat a whole bunch of noobs and I was stock, brake pads on fire, 500treadwear tires. woot.

i had a blue Corolla sedan and my bro had a cream colored Celica. I think they were 85 and 84. Can't remember. gave my corolla to my dad as payment for a loan (it was already paid off and he needed a car). My bro sold his celica to our cuz & her husband. He ran it until it finally died (rust... water leaked when it rained, etc.--bro's celica, no leaks in my Corolla). good memories.

Also had an 85 Tercel. that small square boxy one. That ran pretty good. no power. but it got me point A to point B quite well. until I ran it off the road and broke something. Gave it to charity after that instead of fixing what was wrong with it.
