I have a full car shoot coming up, and need suggestions on the best place to get pics of the car, with the ocean in the background.

The pic in the gallery of Makapuu looks nice, but was wondering if anyone had others?

Example pics would also be great!

oh, a few of the other spots lined up are...
13 turns (in motion shots)
Kalihi Industrial Park
and
Kalakaua (in motion shots)

the waikiki night shots are going to be the most difficult of all, but its worth the risk

plenty people go down by the airport. you're right next to the ocean and can get a backdrop of waikiki and diamond head.

thats at that boat ramp in hawaii kai. not too many nice places close to the ocean unless you get 4wd.

h3 tunnels are nice at night because of the relatively bright and even lighting. it also never hurts to ask permission to shoot on private property. there are plenty of private lands with spectacular backdrops.

I went down Lagoon drive this weekend to take some sample pics to see what they would look like. This is with my craptastic digi cam... so nothing too great. The pic did come out well, but then the lady of the business called the cops on us, and we had to leave. I dont see why, not like we were acting foolish.. just wanted to take a quick snap. Anyway... heres how it came out.

Oh and yeah, we didnt use my car for the raw shots. LOL.

Looks like you're at the seaplane place. Did you ask permission first before you took photographs? If you're going to take photographs on anyone's property or at anyone's business it's imperative that you ask for permission first.

in Barber's Point you can drive right onto the beach and nobody bother you but watch out if not 4WD or bring a tow vehicle. I gotta' find those pics. just drive around you find all kinds of spots for pics.

Next time we go (if we do), i'll make sure to talk to them first.

Do you know of any other spots off of lagoon drive where you can stop to take pics? I couldnt find any others.

There are several spots along lagoon drive, but you're probably going to run into the same problems. Also check out Keiihi (sp?) Lagoon park - right at the freeway end of Lagoon drive. Some nice areas in there as long as it's daytime!

if you make friends with the airport firefighters you might get a nice backdrop
