Da Train Dude?

Hahahaha, yeah that'd be him. It's loosely based on a true story. Kind of like this forum where a bunch of people were posting. Typical Japanese drama show.....everyone supports the main boy via the cyber world. One day he decides to leave the forum/chat area and these cyber friends......................I better not give the story away.

It was on NGN over here.

Oh wait...I think Hachirolla was showing me this when we were in Japan...heh. LOL. I'd be perfect for it if I wasn't married. I'm such a geek.

hey archangel, yes that was the show. A spoof sounds cool, but how about something like "Da bus moke". The story about a 'moke' and his trials of life in Hawaii.

Yes, I've been talking with my producer friend about this, and a few other projects I've had for years on the back burner.
Several of the projects I've started and not finished...

1) The Hawaiian Space Program. Based off of the old Rap Reiplinger comedy skit, where a bunch of local kids in elementary, dream of going into space one day. Basically, they grow up, go their separate ways, but end up having a chance meeting and they all get back together to create their own "Space Canoe"...(This one, is about 40% done)

2) Ninja Scroll 2000. I started that one around 1998, and it is where WWII japanese soldiers(looking for lost gold to fund the war effort) find a golden statue, but it really is the body of Gemma entrapped in the gold... (This one, is 70% done)

3) Densha Otoko spoof. I recently thought this one up, and not sure what I will be doing with it yet. I was thinking Surfer Boy Otoko, but yeah, Bus Otoko been sounding pretty good to me. I've got the guys to do all the videography already, and am working on a cast.

Plot:

Slightly geekish but kind hearted bus riding Local Boy befriends hottie Japanese exchange student commuting to KCC via The Bus. Turns to HT for advice, especially since a few OMB's and a guy currently living in Japan would be a good source of info on how to woo Japanese girls.

Antagonists: REH, dkimini, and Kamakura Kid evilly give all sorts of bad advice, including improper language lessons such as shakuhachi, wakame-zake etc.

Neutral: hachirolla808, living in Japan, gives advice in good faith but since he is based in uber-rural Japan, what works on them there country girls doesn't work on the sophisticated Tokyo raised KCC girl and causes all sorts of humorous hijinks.

Protagonists: Miss G35 and Ms Kitty eventually find out what's going on, step in, and really help Local Boy make some serious progress. REH suddenly finds himself sleeping on cold couch as punishment for "interfering with true love."

Conflict: A long bus strike threatens the relationship, because Miss KCC has to walk through a bad part of town and get her virtue and life threatened on a daily basis. She thinks about packing it up and going back to Japan. REH transitions from cold couch to warm bed by loaning Local Boy a slightly massaged FD3 to drive Miss KCC to school every day.

Soundtrack would be classic heavy metal tunes selected by Ms. Kitty. At random intervals, a cute little girl would pop on screen and ask what time it was.

I haven't yet worked in how a 7 foot tall guy squeezed into a Mini Cooper fits into all this, but give me some time...

Country/City disconnect episode (part 1):

Local Boy wants to take Miss KCC around to see the island, but all he has is a moped. He laments this on HT.

Hachirolla808 tells Local Boy no problem, Japanese chicks really get into scooters with full fairings, like so:

http://www.bookmice.net/darkchilde/drama/shimo/s811.jpg

Local Boy puts a full fairing on his moped, and invites Miss KCC on a ride around the island.

Miss KCC is shocked to see the scooter, but being the nice Japanese girl that she is, manages to choke back her laughter and go on a ride with Local Boy.

Country/City disconnect episode (part 2):

The happy Local Boy and mortified Miss KCC are tooling around the back roads of Oahu (ideally the stretch btwn Turn 1 and 2 at HRP).

Along comes a HPD Solo Officer (bike an ex-HPD Harley borrowed from my friend) and pulls the two over.

The Solo officer (either Etchi in her Racesauce outfit; or I might be able to get a retired HPD Solo cop buddy to do this in his old uniform, less badge) walks up to the two, but once the officer gets a good look at the fully faired moped, starts laughing so hard she/he cannot write a ticket and so sends Local Boy off with a warning.

This final humiliation is just too much for Miss KCC and she walks off in a huff.

Sounds like Roy Uno would be perfect for the Local Boy part. Hahaha.

Sounds like Roy Uno would be perfect for the Local Boy part. Hahaha.

I must admit that thought did cross my mind.

How about Miss KCC? Weren't you saying one of the regular Drift Session trophy girls was raised in Japan and/or speaks the language fluently? Is she on HT?

Still working on your role, AAX. It would be too easy to lump you in with Latka as one of the bad guys threatening Miss KCC's virtue. Tempting, but something else would be better. Besides, I don't think both of you would fit inside a Mini.

AAX, how about a guru or philosopher or oracle that hangs out on top of Diamond Head, dispensing sage but not really understandable nor applicable tidbits of wisdom? Sort of a Zen/Tao combination from hell.

dkmini: when I was in Japan last year, Densha Otoko was all over the TV, magazines, etc. So I tried watching a few episodes but couldn't get into it. Now, though, my curiosity is piqued. Did the otaku get the hottie? Please PM me with how it all turned out. Domo.

K, thanks for the ideas...
I've got one of my other video friends working with me on writing the story.
Heh, Roy? Local boy? I was gonna use him as one of the guys in the forums.
Actually, I got Densha, Misuzu, the Hanshin Tigers guy, the guy who ACTUALLY saved Hermes san on the train, Densha's two Otaku friends, and a few others already cast into their roles. Yes, I'm gonna be the Hanshin Tigers guy!!!
