Yepz...I knew what I was possibly getting into when I joined. Hell, I saw Forest Gump the day after they told me a I was going to be a Combat Arms instructor. Even the AF guys are going out on patrols and are in the line of fire over there. One of my old friends works at Lackland, and he said there's tons of people coming back with bullet wounds, amputations, etc. It's certainly not like how it was when I joined...I left on the tail end of it, after a doctor almost killed me. Go figure. :(

I read somewhere that with the advances in body armor, many people who would have died previously are now surviving their injuries, but as amputees and such.
