I honestly have no clue which sport this is about...so I took a guess. :gapteeth:

Penn's team is not doing well, but part of that could be because he didn't really have a good chance to assess the fighters before they chose sides. Hard to tell who has what skills when Pulver ran them into the ground during his evaluation session and they couldn't even lift up their hands afterwards. Pulver's team also seems to be more fired up - Penn seems to be more laid back in his coaching, more like a "big brother" style of coaching.
If you mean the fight between the two of them, I'd still pick Penn. Whether or not he may be the better coach, whether he may not have chosen the best fighters (although he did ask for it... he asked for those who wanted to be on his side rather than outright ability), I think he has a good chance of taking Pulver down. Can't say if he'll go for the ground and pound or submit, though.

Edited for clarification on the poll.
Very true about the fighters. Seemed to me that the guys who wanted to be on Penn's had an attitude that just because they're under Penn, they'll easily take it.
Not sure on this, but did Penn lose to Pulver before?

They have fought before, but now I can't remember who won.
Team Penn isn't looking too impressive so far. 0-3 so far into the season, and it looks like Pulver's team is going to just steamroll them.
The lightweights are fun to watch, especially last night's fight. I thought it was going to go the other way but it was still entertaining.
Doh't forget! UFC 70 is *free* on Spike TV tonight. Apparently they didn't get the PPV / HBO stuff done in time so they are offering it free. :yl2jump:

Penn and Pulver fought before. Penn would have beat him down but Pulver got saved by the bell at one point. I believe Pulver won but I don't recall if it was be submission or decision. I would really like for Penn to win but he looked like he put on some serious pounds-he's got a 2nd chin! Oh well... we'll see. It'd be nice for Penn to shut Pulver up, I'm tired of his yammering.

Ahh...soon as I saw the second post, I knew it was UFC. I haven't watched any of it for about a year and a half now...so of course, I'm lost. :D

Penn did seem to put on some weight.
UFC 70 is tonight? 4/21?
Penn will kill Pulver in the rematch.

bj did loose weight. I seen him personally couple weeks ago and he looked skinny as hell. I almost didn't recognize him. but yeah for the fight, I see a decent stand up battle and then bj goin to the mat for a submission in the 2nd.

I'm sure Penn is training his ass off since he seems very involved by sparring and grappling when he trains with his guys whereas you see Pulver just walking around giving tips to his guys.
It just kills me though how Penn's boys are sucking wind right now. How's that fatty who got onto the show? He KNEW he had to meet the 155lb weight class-what the hell was he doing porking it up? I'm glad Dana got rid of that asshat.

it pisses me off that penns guys dont listen to him. Emerson got a 2nd chance and didnt do anything.
Gray, JLau and Handsome are all killers, though. Handsome is gonna have his hands full against Manny.

I want Penn to win, but I think Pulver will.
I also call Diaz to win even tho Manny is a fricken power house.

I'd like to see Penn win, but I think he sounds so overconfident that this will be a rematch of their first match. He's going to fall into the trap they set for him and it's going to be a striking match, he won't get to use his grappling and ground and pound game.
In the special, they made it looks like Pulver was taking the match and his training much more seriously. That, and I didn't realize he was with MFS for like 7 years. They've got people that can grapple and submit just as well as Penn that he can train with.
Manny is strong, motivated, and got some training time with Karo. Diaz is skilled as well, but I think everyone still underestimates Manny (except for Dana and some of the other commentators).
