Warning: True Gaming Geekery follows. :computerpunch:

With the Wii on the horizon...taking a true look over the games coming out, you can tell that graphically, compared to the PS3 & 360, it's readily apparent that the Wii is much more simplistic, and definetly not as powerful in the graphics department.

I personally, am eager to experience the Wii, as I think for once, I can get my wife into my gaming habits. I remember playing with the EyeToy at the store, and that was one of the first times I have ever seen her get into something other than puzzle games. The idea of playing drunken tennis sounds pretty cool. I haven't really been excited about a console launch since the SNES came out.

The reason I think the Wii might just come out ahead, is the fact that people play games because they enjoy the entertainment it provides. How many people really care about the graphics when you're playing Puzzle Bobble or Snake? And those are the two most popular games in the arcade on my forum. And how many of us will go to an arcade and pour quarter after quarter in Ms.Pac-Man or Street Fighter II? Those graphics are obviously dated, but the gameplay stands.

Now, I think depending on the game, graphics really do matter. It further extends the suspension of disbelief. In certain games, that's paramount to providing the game experience. I about jumped outta my seat several times playing FEAR. Although, I gotta say, I wonder what it would be like playing a game like FEAR with a controller like Wii's. I think it would even further put you in that moment.

Anyways, what's your idea? Gamplay or graphics? If you had to choose? I think it's common sense really.

Here's the article that got me thinking about it. :compute:
