photoshop question

what program u guys use to make borders on those pictures? is it photoshop? i used to use ps a while back but forgot how to use it, also have image ready....

also is there a how to on how to make those black/white photos but have one part of it in color?

my computer is old so everytime i use PS ..my computer turns into a old lady crossing the street.... lol but i also have a new mac too but no photo programs yet

to make picture b/w with one thing colored is easy.
1. open picture, make a copy of it
2. on the copy, desaturate it (ctrl-shift-U), then add layer mask(on the layers menu, click on the bottom symbol thats a circle in a square)
3. reset your colors to black and white (press D)
4. pick your brush tool and paint out the parts u want colored by painting with black. if u make a mistake, switch to white to fix it.

thats it! easy huh?

to make border just click on image->canvas size then enlarge your canvas as big as u like. then color it in with bucket tool. u can do it one, make it black (small), then do it again making it white(bigger).
thats the easy way. there is another way using the edit->stroke but its a bit harder to explain quicky!
