| Drugs are bad. HT Casual User Additional Info | Today was an intersting day... I had an 11am appointment to show a unit out in Waianae. The previous tenants moved out on November 30th. When I showed up today, I noticed from the outside that one of the bedroom's jalousie windows was open... but I was SURE that I closed all of them when I left on the 30th after the move out appointment. I mentioned to my coworker that I thought that was wierd. We opened the door and the unit smelled like cat pee... the previous tenants didn't have a cat, and the unit didn't smell bad at all when I went in there last time. We peeked upstairs and some of the bedroom doors were closed, one of them was the one with the open windows. That kind of creeped us out, so we decided to wait outside for the prospective tenants. Once they came, we explained that we thought someone might be staying in the unit, and we asked the husband to please carefully open the bedroom doors and investigate. He did and no one was in the unit. When we went upstairs, I found the plastic wrapper for a pack of cigarettes, a pair of socks, 2 empty toilet paper rolls, and a paper clip that (according to the neighbor) was folded in a way that it is used to clear pipes. Outside in the front enclosed courtyard there were roaches... and I dont' mean the kind with legs and antennae, and empty baggies. There was also a drink in a cup in the freezer. The unit doors were locked, the only thing we figure is that they went through the jalousie window downstairs since the screen is now slightly bent and since the back gate was open. Also, the guy who agreed to open the bedroom doors said that they came by the unit on Dec. 1 to look at the outside and they say a guy sitting in that upstairs bedroom that had the open windows... but since I moved out the tenants on Nov 30th, no one should have been in there. |

| Mrs. Officer HT Chronic Addict Additional Info | Wow that's such a scary situation you had to go through! Please be careful in the future. I hope that when you show all the units you always go with someone and also notify a few people on where you're going and an estimated time you'll be back. It also helps to call in to let someone know that you're there and also right when you leave. So if there are squatters on the premisis, you can call the police to make them leave right? Can they be charged with tresspassing? How has this affected the potential for this unit to be sold? I'm sure as a possible bidder for this home I'd be concerned that this person or people that are squatting may very well come back after I've already purchased the home. __________________ "I’m selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. | The King of Hearts HT Casual User Additional Info | should call the police and let them know the house might have been broken into. they might send someone over to check it out every now and then to see if anyone might be inside...personaly, sounds like someone is doing drugs and sleeping in the rooms and must have known people where moving out |

| Linux is Awesome HT Chronic Addict Additional Info | expect alot more...per HPD they busted or are investigating roughly 170+ organized drug rings in Hawaii! one was shipping in $1.2 million in meth (120 lbs street price 20k/kilo) a month! That is almost half a ton of meth a year!?! wtf? that is alot of crackheads to be smoking all that. but it'll never go away...what other business can promise 99% profit? It costs $200 in ingredients to make $20,000 worth of meth. Seesh...if I was a drug dealer I could just sell 10 lbs a year and would be making six figures tax free. __________________ ![]() Quote:

| iz jus me dakine li'dat! HT Chronic Addict Additional Info | ^^wow. it's no wonder so many is sucked into it... the lure of fast $... big $... . yup. be careful. there's a lot of things like that going on... if it isn't squatters. it's those that lie on their application to say that only 1 or 2 people is going to stay there... and next thing you know... on your next visit... oh, my relatives just stopped by... they're not really staying here... a quick check with the neighbors prove otherwise. that would've blown it for a lot of clients... no one wants to rent/own a place that they won't feel secure in... it was one of the questions that always came up when my landlord advertised one of our units for rent (when it was vacant)... how is the neighborhood? how is the crime?... __________________ --- so sayeth idio <legalese disclaimer> I am not liable for any assumptions that you may have about my posts idiosyncrasies of the truth inevitably varies with an individual's perception ![]() |

| Bombara HT Casual User Additional Info | For your own safety, please don't ever do that again! Call HPD, explain the situation (forced entry), and ask them to check. You never know who or what is inside. I'm glad that no one was inside there, and nothing happened to you. |

| F1 Fan HT Chronic Addict Additional Info | ^^ Yeah, I agree. It's not just personal safety, either. There's a big liability issue there. If that husband had been attacked or injured, he could sue you and/or the company you work for. What's even more messed up, is that if he had injured the squatters, the squatters could probably sue too. |

| juSt mE HT Casual User Additional Info | Wow.. thats really terrible. Difinately call HPD first when/if that happens again. If anyone was still in the house it could have turned into an even worse situation. Glad you landed up safe in the end.. but nevermind taking chances like that again.. no good like that... Be safe.. |

They got some ridiculously big ones in Mexico. Were talking meth measured in the tons, not grams, ounces or pounds. They are shipping tons of meth across the border and bringing back home hundreds of millions of dollars in cold hard cash. And now that Mexican trucks dont need to stop for inspection....oh man.....the Mexican drug lords were smiling. ![]() And from how people describe it...meth is very easy to make with simple household chemicals. That's what's so freaking scary! Anyone could make it.:afraid: __________________ ![]() Quote:
