it's a waste of money and cruel to the dog.

spend the cash on steak bones for him and train him good.

not to mention...cropped ears make them more prone to getting ear infections..which can be caused by rain, swimming and even bathing...cuz water has an easier time of getting into their ear canals...

Why would you butcher that puppy's ears? To look cool in front of other dog-owning humans? It looks fine just the way it is.

keep the ears, i dig the semi floppy ear look. it keeps the pit looking all cute. damn, now i want a pit, but theres not enough room at my house plus theres no way i could let that mofo sleep on my bed. it's almost too small for me, i'd end up sleeping on the floor so the doggy could be comfortable lol

yep..that floppy ears make them look that much more cute...not to mention, when you crop the ears youre only adding to the whole "mean pitbull" thing...cuz cut ears are meant for "fighters"...so why add fuel to the ever burning fire of those who continue to believe that "all pitbulls" are gonna eat your children.... *rolls eyes*

the sad thing is that majority of pitbulls are GREAT dogs...but because of the media portrayal of the "bad ones" then all the good ones get put way in the back where no one can see them....

anyways....good luck again with all the comments you will now have about your "pitbull"...believe me, its REALLY gonna test you...but you just have to try and be the better person and let them go, kill em with kindness...or have a really good sarcastic comeback hahaha

Theres better, safer dogs to have around children. Be prepared to feel like a stupid idiot when your pit bull DOES attack someone. It is the owners fault when a child or other pet gets mauled. The owner is always some idiot that must tell you, over and over, how sweet the dog was. I just want to slap them.

don't crop the ears. you want your pit to look as non-violent as possible. I mean its already got its breed going against him, don't make it worse.

I agree with solady, pits are some of the best dogs around. just make sure you get him trained. No, he won't attack your kids just because he's a pit bull.

its the owner's fault if the dogs attack and pits aren't at the top of the list for dog attacks. German shepherds are. also small dogs bite more than pits.

Like every other breed, make sure your dog is well behaved and trained. Make sure it knows that humans are the boss and don't be afraid to put him on his ass when he does something wrong.

Hello Kitty, its not just pit bulls that attack people. My beagle used to be out of control before I got him. a "safer" dog is one that is well trained and has an outlet for their energy; in other words, walking him and getting good exercise.

Most of the pits I've met were reasonably friendly...except the one that was roaming loose around our street awhile ago and wanted to fight my dog who was only barking to defend our property. That was the one and only time I've seen him back away from a stray dog wandering on our lot...lol...smart move as he would've got his ass kicked. I swear, if that f*cking pit layed so much as a paw on my dog, he would've got a baseball bat into his face. Twenty times.

Anyway, the danger I see with all pits(and other very strong breeds) is their strength and tenacity. Once they lock on, I've read it takes a lot to make them let go. I've seen some pretty brutal videos of attacking pits. Sure a chihuahua may bite more often, but it probably can't kill you. Pits are inherently dangerous because of their strength, proper training or not.

pitbulls are good dogs. it's the owners that make them nuts and give them the bad rep. But it's up to you if tyou wnat to crop their earls. it's like circumcishion, but for dogs.

haha you to?
I almost got to kill a loose pit last week

this same pit chased ms kombi while we were riding our bikes down the road 3weeks ago.
guess what dumbass dog shows up a in a legit state public parking lot(a mile away from previous encounter). Funnier is that I had my windows down and all my trail work tools in the passenger seat. Dog booked it up to me (w/ 22'' machete and hatchet in hands)from a 150yrds away, started to show teeth and shyt bout 10ft. away. That dog booked it out of there when I reared back my hand and went for it.

Its like people have never heard of a god damn leash or tieing ur chetty animal up when you're not around.
Oh and our co-worker has his 3rd court appearance for his pit attacking people and dogs this week. He got his last warning last incident. buhbyee doggie

Even if there are a few good owners out there, what a chetty breed, so many attacks and kills. Bring on the ban!! people will never learn

I got chased by a few labs before...not to mention, Oreo has been attacked by numerous shitzus, pomeranians and other "small breed dogs".....and about 2 chocolate Labs...one black Lab...and one yellow Lab...and a bunch of other "bigger dogs"...

whats funny is that youd THINK a Labrador would be the LAST dog to attack but yet its been majority of the "big dog" attacks on Oreo..

but of course, pitbulls will forever be "the worst dogs to own" because "they will kill some or bite your kids" I just ignore all the remarks/comments etc by people because no matter WHAT good my dog or someone else "pitbull" does aint nobody gonna care because its hard to show someone the "good side" of things if they are so set in their ways...

but back to topic Ms Tasha..DONT crop puppies ears please....

idio tried punching them square on their head, and just about sprained his hand... next time, I'll not act instinctively and think about punching them square on their soft nose instead... If that doesn't work, I'll try that anal deterrent.

oops. sorry about gong off topic too.

Leave the ears. They're just fine that way.
No need to spend your hard earned money on something superficial. Cropping their ears was done for the people who wanted to 'fight' their dogs.
