i do not like the sun.
i do not like it in a car,
i do not like it in a bar.
i do not like to feel the heat,
i do not want to get sweaty feet.
i do not want to be in the sun,
i do not expect to have any fun.
i do not want to volunteer on labor day,
i would rather stay home with my son and play.

each and every memo we get from the powers-that-be up above makes less sense than the one before it.
even my boss has to just shake her head and wonder what the people above us are thinking - this is gone waaay beyond "The Gods Must Be Crazy" (old movie).
last week, it's like "you have to collect and analyze all this data for people, but federal regulations prohibit you from sharing it with anyone but your boss".
then the "new...

union meeting this afternoon, no idea what the agenda is, but they'll pro'lly introduce the new director of our committee.
the committee chairs from the other chapters have had even less communication with the new director, so they are probably still steamed at the lack of direction and communication.
a short intoduction should turn into a Q&A session, and rightfully so. they can't expect us to be the liasons between the members and the board of directors and the...

thank goodness the political season is just about over. due to a change in leadership at our union, we have a new director of the committee i co-chair.
our old director was really good about letting us do our thing, communicating with us, letting us know what's going on, etc... this was somebody i could trust.
the NEW director is totally the opposite. they send out vague e-mail spams w/o any explantion, don't answer e-mail when i ask if we can go to fundraisers and...

went to the parent orientation for our son's new school this afternoon - it was like an alumni reunion!
i guess being an alumnus DOES make a difference, no matter what they say in the admission process (only 20% of applicants were admitted).
people i haven't seen in YEARS were there - literally! i haven't seen some of these people in over 20 years (classmates and my wife's classmates, too).
was nice knowing our kids got into our...
