| Bombarabara HT Casual User Additional Info | During the last meeting (the Kapolei Board meeting at the beginning of the month) the Kapolei Board Chairperson (Maeda Timson) invited the oval track folks (actually all folks wanting to talk about the track) to return to the Mar. 22nd meeting. Anyone going? I'll probably go again to see how the board reacts (since it's my local community board). |

However, you and your fellow racers should come to this meeting to voice your concerns in keeping the track open. The more people that step forward (positively) the more hope we'll have in keeping our tracks open. | |

| Bombarabara HT Casual User Additional Info | I think he was refering to the previous (two meetings ago) meeting's outbursts. I too was at the last Kapolei board meeting and agree that things were orderly, except for the two board members (that never seem to agree on anything anyways). |

| Sand Facial HT Casual User Additional Info | Will any of you be a the Mar. 22 board meeting? And how do you all feel about what's been going on so far? Do you feel that you will have a place in the new facility or do you want to keep the existing track open? Last edited by Paradise Racer; 03-17-2006 at 12:32 AM. Reason: forgot to add something |

| Bombarabara HT Casual User Additional Info | Hard to say exactly when they will allow the track folks to speak so not sure about timing; however, you can come and go as you please. If you do want to speak regarding the track though, I think they want you to sign-up at the beginning. I think they allowed 10 people (or 10 minutes) to sign-up for both pro and con (though there were no con folks). |

| Bombarabara HT Casual User Additional Info | So are the REH folks going tonight? I'm meeting up with Erik T. (erik808) and Troy M. (fsp394) at Starbucks (in Kapolei) at 6:00 and we'll head on over to Kapolei HS after that. Bill Y. (Kamakura Kid) has some GMAT studying to catch- up on so he's going to miss this one. |

| Bombarabara HT Casual User Additional Info | Well I met up with Troy and Erik at Starbucks and we headed over to the meeting at 7pm. Everyone was standing outside; evidently, because of Spring Break no one was there to open the doors. The meeting started about 30 minutes late. The meeting started off with Board Chairperson Maeda Timson reading an e-mail reply from the committee that governs the neighborhood boards. It simply stated that the race track "issue" is a private matter between a tenant and landlord and legally the neighborhood boards would NOT get involved and would NOT allow time to hear any matters concerning this. One board member stated this was ridiculous and we know it WILL become a matter that the board must address soon. Another board member stated he would like to hear the question that the governing body was replying to. This same board member asked the chairperson to allow the voices be heard for tonight because she said she would allow them to speak at the last meeting. Two people spoke : first person was the lady who spoke at the meeting called by the oval folks and the second person to speak was the wife of Jr. The second speaker quoted a Jan. article from one of the papers and quoted Timson in the article (this seemed to pizz Timson off - she stated it was her "personal" opinion). The oval folks representation was low this time. I didn't really see any sign waivers this time. Jr. was missing too. We ended-up leaving early as it was clear the chairperson was not going to allow any track related things to be discussed. |

| Sand Facial HT Casual User Additional Info | You should have stayed on as there was an announcement from Councilmember Todd Apo. He had introduced a resolution concerning the track. All this hubbub going on actually made someone out there take an interest in our cause and decide to do something to help. Let me know if you are interested in what this Resolution says..... |
