Italian hotel mistakenly offers 1-cent weekend - Yahoo! News

And they will even honor the reservations....all thanks to human error. How 50% became 99.99% off is curious.

It's only funny when its pricing errors.

They just found out...the reason the plane crashed in the Hudson because the controller was talking about a stupid cat.

yeah....and pricing errors are only good if YOU catch them..and of course, its honored....arent businesses suppose to honor that though if someone catches their error BEFORE they post/print their "error notices"

when I was working at Longs we had to verify every sale item in our ad (for our departments)....and ANY errors, needed to be posted/printed PRIOR to our ad being put out in stores.....

It depends on the item and the cost. For hotel the loss was 129k so if its a really big company that's not so bad.

But for Bestbuy to honor that deal would probably cost them tens of millions of dollars. I think they rather go to court if anyone sues them then try to honor that.

I used to work retail. If we messed up and something was on the wrong tag and it looked reasonable enough....we just honored the price. One lady lucked out and bought a cordless phone for $ 19.99 when it sells for $ 59.99. We forgot to take off the sale sign from the previous day.

Boss didnt mind. Wholesale price was very low and he was able to push the warranty on it so we made out on commission.

yep, thats why when I worked at Longs we had to take down the old signs and put up the new ones every saturday night..so I MADE SURE to go through ALL the aisles more than once to make sure every single sign from the previous sale was down....you could tell when I was the closing manager on saturdays cuz there was NEVER an old sale sign still up on sunday...

Kmart is horrible with price/sign errors...hahaha....of course, since Im only a "cashier" there its not really my problem (except when the customer comes up to the registers lol)
