woohooo.. that was fun. boy it was windy. i had to run plenty times for that one stupid cone that kept falling down or bouncing around. lol

awesome track, again. great meeting you spike, though i was rushed to get to the meeting. see you in 2 weeks!

hands down, this SCCA thing is better than golf... and cheaper too.

after the races i wait for the results to see how i'm placing with other drivers and in my class as i go along here.

i'm confident that if i drive better and guage the course better, i can be quicker... not necessarily faster.

i'm trying to go fast but i'm turning and braking late, unrefined, not smooth.. which led to another spin out like i did on the TnT. sure, i could buy more hi-perf parts and race tires, however, the car seems like it sticks good enough for how i'm driving it.

as i fine tune my driving skills.... i'm sure i'll find traction a limiting factor. right now i don't think that's my real problem.

LOL.. next time try again, see you all at the races.... its on b*tches!

lol. It takes some time to really get a feel for your car, and every time you change or upgrade something, you gotta get the feel of the car all over again.

I was pushing my tires to the limit on this course at the wide and fast parts. My car just does not want to turn when I go fast. I've got lots of wheel hop -_-

Maybe I could've hit my target time if I had learned how to do this:

There were many parts of the course where this could've been done. The problem with FWD is I can't afford to lose momentum or my traction will go with it. This would help maintain the momentum, although I don't know how controlled it is.

That move is call the "Scandinavian flick" if you rally, or "feint" if you drift.

Spike, what is your suspension set up? Maybe I can give some setup insight.

I am running on Tein super street coil overs. Front is set to 16 (softest damping) and rear is set to 00 (hardest damping setting).

According to the Tein site, the spring rates are as follows: Front: 450 lbs/in Rear: 560 lbs/in (honestly don't even know what any of that means in terms of how it affects handling)

Front tires are at 32PSI (that's the lowest I can go without rollover) and rear tires are at 45PSI. Running RE01R all around.

I don't know anything about setting up suspensions so I hope i gave the right info. Thanks!

What do you mean exactly? Like plowing?

Btw, here's my failed scandanavian flick at 0:21 heh heh...

I don't think I turned in the right direction fast enough. I was shitting myself because I thought I was going to wipe out that whole curve of cones haha.

pushing and plowing must be like driving in snow and trying to turn. my spring rates are in the 300lb range for the front and are progressive. i know its stiffer and stronger than the stock ones.... and i know something else....

i'm looking so sexy out there its incredible. btw, i'm not number "11"... its number 1 two times... that's how good i am.

hahahaha.

Looking at your vid, it looks like you are coming in too hot, then blowing the entrance of the corner. What do you have in terms of swaybars, if they are adjustable, what are settings? Also, try going up on the front damping 8 clicks and see what that does for you. Also what is your camber for the fronts?

My sway bars aren't adjustable...yet. I am currently running a stiffer bar in the rear.

I have my alignment papers in my car so I will have to get back to you on that one.

I'll stiffen the front by 8 clicks during the next event.

What do you mean by "I am coming in too hot"? What should I have done differently?

Here's my quickest run of the day, I didn't even attempt a flick in this one:

dang, you beat my by half a second.

i think i'm coming in too hot also.. blowing the corners and passing the limits of my traction. like a plane coming in for a landing too hot.. lol

Rick told me the next time i spin out, do it right, there needs to be more smoke. heh heh.

You need to take down more cones too. A slow time looks better if you have several cones associated with it. :P

Too funny... yes, if you are gonna spin, it's mandated by the Solo Cheifs that you put up lots and lots of smoke, and take out a cone or two if you can. Mama always said, if you're gonna do somethin', do it right!

"sliding" and trying to "rotate" the car around is OK...just don't throw the door open, stick one leg out of the car and flash us da shaka while you do it! LOL

Here's my camber specs:

Front: -0.7

Rear: -1.3 (this is the most positive camber that it can get. there is currently no camber kit for my car but there will be one in development soon)
