Exclamation Brett Favre retiring

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=090...o&confirm=true

he was one of my favorite QBs, tough mother fukker, man...at that age he should take it easy already. i sure as hell wouldn't want to be getting smashed like that at my (our) age.

I remember hating him and the Packers during the 90's, but when a legend retires we are all sad to see 'em hangem up.

Me too. Never liked him on the first go-around(as a football player). But when he ends up playing with guys almost young enough to be his children, it's hard not to respect what the guy could do. He'd get pounded...and keep on going. Kinda like John Elway. Didn't like him(as a football player). But eventually he proved his worth.

I ended up like watching both of them in their final years...actually rooting for them.

I have some of his Atlanta Falcons rookie cards, too. Are any of 'em worth anything?

They probably will be worth more after his election to the Hall of Fame.

As a Packers/Favre fan all my life, it's heart-wrenching to see what's happening. It reminds me of Jordan and the idiot Bulls all over again.

I understand where they're coming from, they want to rebuild with Rodgers, but it's Brett friggin' Favre that just led your organization to their best season and should have gone to the Super Bowl if not for some idiot rookie's mistakes vs. the Giants. You're closing the door on this Brett Favre?

idk i think favre trying to come back is a bad move if he wasnt so sure about retirement than he should never have announced it at the end of last season. the packers assumed he left the game and geared everything for the next season towards rodgers and now their stuck behind this circus with training camp coming up.i only see bad things coming from this

well think about it this way...even with a great season Favre found a way to screw it up with that oh so lovely interception!!!

just like a few years back against Philly!!!

its a pick that is based upon performance. if he plays well for the Jets, the pick goes higher and higher.

that is a great deal for both sides. the Jets now have a chance to make the playoffs...and the Packers can still continue to build the team!!!

Yeah, figures they'd trade him. Rodgers finally gets to be in the drivers seat, lets see how he handles it!

if favre takes 50% of snaps for Jets, the Packers get a 4th round pick. if he takes 75% and they make the playoffs it becomes a 3rd round pick. and if he takes 80% and up, and they get to the Super Bowl it becomes a 2nd round pick!!!

but if the Jets trade Favre to the Vikings, the Packers get 3 1st round picks!!!

It's that time of the year again. Is Favre retiring......again? The Jets told him to take all the time that he needs....we all know he will.
